🇬🇧 The Beatles by Rachelle

On January 16th 2001 the official Beatles day was created and celebrated worldwide. Fans around the world organize events dedicated to the legendary band.

The Beatles were an English rock band from Liverpool, England formed in 1960. From 1962 until their break up in 1970 the group members were: John Lennon with the rhythm guitar, Paul McCartney playing the bass guitar, George Harrison lead guitar, and Ringo Starr on the drums. The band has been remembered as the most influential music band in popular music history and they were often publicized as leaders of the era’s youth and sociocultural movements.

They had 20 #1 singles and 21 #1 hit records they also stand above all other musicians in billboard chart history. The bands top hit started in 1964 with the famous song “I want to hold your hand”

Followed along with other classics like “Hey Jude”, “A hard day’s night”, “Yesterday”, “Let it be” with many more. More than 3,000 musicians have covered “Yesterday” since its release. One of the last popular songs was in 1970 called “The long and winding road” unfortunately that same year the band broke up it did not become official until April 10th 1970.

The Beatles impact on the hot 100 was huge in 2015 they were the top performing act in the chart’s history. They had 183 million certified album sales in the US alone. They are considered to be one of the best-selling music acts of all time with an estimated sale of 600 million copies.

There are 2 members of the band that are still alive Paul McCartney 78 years old and Ringo Star 80 years old. Unfortunately John Lennon was shot and killed in December 1980 and George Harrison died of lung cancer in November 2001, may they Rest In Peace.

Here is a quote written by John Lennon

“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.”

The Beatles were a big impact on the music scene and still are to this day if you haven’t listened to their music yet today is a good day to start! Long live The Beatles peace and love everyone ❤️✌️
